The Amazing Thing About Wiperblades

A good and reliable wiperblade is imperative for driving safely these modern days. Almost all vehicles these days have wiperblades fitted, including trains and even aircraft. Wiperblades in a very basic form were invented by J. H. Apjohn in 1903. Later in the same year a lady called Mary Anderson decided to modify the original idea and invented the ‘swinging arm’ wiperblade. Most windscreen wipers operate alongside a pump, this helps to keep the screen clear for good visibility. Although problems can occur when using water in the pump the advantages are that this is an extremely cost effective way of clearing the windscreen. Eventually the technology advanced so that wiperblades were eventually added to headlights and the rear window. Recent advances have seen the technology improve so much so that we now have wiperblades with sensors so that they activate when rain begins.
