What is the best singing program for rookie singers and more experienced singers?  These days there are a lot to choose from.  The creating of the online market place helped pros market learning programs or write books that can be sold on their websites.  The level of competition does help the aspiring singer because we now have lots of options to learn singing.  Back in the old days I used to go get vocal lessons from a coach near me, but I had not other choice like learning online.  In this sense, technology has helped aspiring musicians like me.  You can always start off with a book too, but I don’t think it’s as entertaining as an online course or learning program.

Little Sister’s Rock Band

My sister just doesn’t give up. She has nagged me and nagged me about joining our rock band. I keep refusing her because, frankly, our band already has a great female singer and we don’t need or want any more musicians. In a huff the other day, she announced that she was going to form her own band. It would be the best female group in the world, and she would not even invite me to its concerts. The truth is, she’s pretty good and very determined. She just might pull something like this off. If she does, you can bet I’ll be there to cheer her on. I just won’t let her know!

Rocking the Football Rally Old School Style

Today I had to pick out some music for our football rally and I decided to bring in some favorite old school jams that are staples for getting people up on their feet. I chose two of the best songs ever “We Will Rock You” and “Another One Bites The Dust” because you just can’t do better than those. I asked Larry to make sure that the sound equipment is set up and ready to go and he has assured me that there will be no hitches. This is going to be the best rally that this town has ever seen and we will even be setting it off with some fireworks at the end!

My Sister Can Do This

My sister can really sing. I can not. She is always trying to help me. She will coach and coach. She finally has said, ” You are not singing from your chest.” I am like “Well, what is that and how do you do it?” She keeps working with me and one day I am going to get this. For some people, like my sister, it just comes naturally. For some people, like me, it just does not. Have you ever tried this, it just does not flow for me, I feel like I am a drowning fish, maybe there is something wrong with me.

I have always thought that music has seasons.  The fall is all about energetic rock and roll, winter is holiday music time, and spring is marked by lilting classical sounds.  My favorite sounds are in summer, which has always felt like the blues to me.  Nothing feels so much like warm, lazy summer evenings as much as blues guitar.  Every year in early June I begin to sit out by the pool each evening, relaxing with my favorite blues tunes.  My husband tells family and friends that summer must be here because the blues are on the CD player again.

Technology Meets Music

Who doesn’t love music?  And who doesn’t love technology?  The two make each other better, in my opinion.  Before technology entered into the mix, music lovers were relegated to buying albums in a store. Sometimes you had to pay for an entire album just to get access to one or two songs you really liked.  Then, thanks to technology, downloading stepped in and saved the day.  Now I get to choose what I download, and thanks to ares, I can even do it for free.  This system is not only free, it’s completely legal and it gives me access to way more than a record store could.  I’m loving it!
