Atherosclerosis the main cause of Peripheral vascular disease
January 31, 2010 on 1:57 pm | By admin | In HealthA condition that is as common and just as a problem as the ischemic heart disease that does nit seem to get the same amount of publicity and attention is the peripheral vascular disease. This condition happen when the blood supplies to the limbs mostly the lower limbs is decreased. The formation of atherosclerosis is mainly the cause of this. As a result of this poor blood supply, any damage or trauma to the lower limb is not going to heal as well as it should. The worst case situation is that the wound that develops cannot heal. If this is the case, then an amputation of the lower limb is highly performed.
