Invention Is Protected While the Patent Is Pending
February 23, 2010 on 5:02 am | By admin | In Reference | Comments OffOver the years, many people have created inventions and lost the rights to them because they did not apply for a patent and someone stole their idea. Basically, a patent provides protection for an inventor. The inventor is protected from the time he applies for the patent. During this period of Patent Pending, he is still under the protection of the patent. It gives the inventor exclusive rights to the new process or product he has invented. As the owner of the patent, the inventor is the only person who can legally manufacture, use, or sell his process or product for the next twenty years. If someone makes a request to use, sell, or manufacture the invention, this can only be done with the permission of the inventor. Without such methods of protection, inventors would have no means to keep their ideas from being stolen.
